For the last year or so, some of Ladybugs behaviors have really concerned me. To name a few, she mouths everything, from her fingers, to pens, plastic, to her sister. When she tantrums, she goes on for a very long time. It is often to difficult to reach her in those moments. She does not like wearing socks and honestly, she goes, goes, goes. She is unable to sit still and focus. I can only wonder what will happen to her when she is in Kindergarten next year.
I have discussed this with my sweetheart of almost 9 years. He feels that this is simply a stage. I was contemplating that perhaps, she had some sensory issues. Then it hit me today as I was cursing to get the carseat back in the Camry. I have not been the role model of tranquility. When I get angry, perhaps my intensity looks like an adult version of my daughter getting upset. I think that I am done, for the moment, trying to pull the plank out of my daughter's eye.
For the rest of Lent, if I can be present and calm, perhaps I will be a better role model.

2013 New Beginnings - Kindness, Presence, and Faith
Life with little Ladybug has been hard over the last year or so. I am not sure what exactly is transpiring. My guess is that with the miscarriage in 2010, weaning and pregnancy in 2011, and then the birth of her sister in 2012, she may have felt that I have been withdrawing. While certainly not intentional, trying to reconnect with this little person so that the number of tantrums diminish and the anger wanes, has become a priority. In desperation, last year, I started a parenting group that meets every other month to discuss various parenting issues. We really have not covered alot of territory here. Consequently, I am formulating a plan to re-learn my parenting skills in efforts to strengthen my relationship, but to also encourage more self-discipline and kindness.
Live in the Life
Our new life arrived on June 12, 2012. Little Ladybug arrived after labor stalled. Perhaps I will write more later about her birth. However, since then, I surmise that I am going through some sort of 'post parent' crisis, wondering what part of me is me? How can I further develop this self without some sacrifice endured by my family?

Preparing for the New Year
It is hard to believe that 2011 is already coming to a close. The year has been brimming with action: house hunting, moving, pregnancy, etc. I am certainly trying to take my own quiet breath and not being very successful at it.
Ladybug, continues to grow and flourish. Although, I am not feeling as though I am able to fully relate. She can play and playe ,and I tire. How to remedy this, while still maintaining some semblance of myself is the challenge. Especially that we know that number 2 is due later this June.
Setting myself up to prepare for this New Year is slightly challenging, given that I am still living amidst some boxes. However, I keep holding onto the feeling that this home was a gift. In the end, Iam hopully believe this. ing to be able to f
